EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format) is metadata embedded in photos by cameras and phones. It can include GPS location, date/time, camera model, and settings: information you may not want to share publicly.

All metadata is stripped: GPS coordinates, camera make/model, date taken, exposure settings, software used, and any other embedded data. Only the image pixels remain.
